When we look for vacation destinations, the lists are always overwhelming. During wintertime, we look for destinations with a more pleasant climate to enjoy a well-deserved holiday. Some of us would go to the beach to enjoy the tropical weather and get a tan. There are thousands of beaches around the world, but nothing compares to the Mexican Caribbean. The Mexican Caribbean’s great strip made it possible for tourists to enjoy the white sand and warm water, it’s a great destination for any beach lovers.
For most tourists, it’s important to know all the attractions of the area you’ll visit. I came up with a list of the five best destinations to see in the Mexican Caribbean.
Cancun Hotel Zone
The Cancun Hotel Zone is known worldwide for its incredible “all-inclusive resorts” in Mexico. They have the highest standards of quality that offer visitors a relaxing vacation on the best beaches, Olympic-sized swimming pools, and restaurants with the best international chefs.
Hotels such as the Hard Rock offer tourists unforgettable experiences with live concerts and plays at night. The Hotel Zone is an ideal destination for anyone looking for oceanfront accommodation to have a great time with family and friends.
Tulum
Tulum is the ideal destination for nature lovers who want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located on the Mexican Caribbean coast, Tulum is a small town with nice theme parks and nature attractions. To get there, locals recommend taking a Shuttle from Cancun to Tulum so you can move comfortably rather than renting a car.
One of the popular destinations in Tulum is Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. It’s home to thousands of species of flora and fauna. You can also find more than 300 species of birds and mammals such as jaguars or tapirs. You can take a kayak tour in the lagoon so you can enjoy incredible views and have close contact with nature.
Another activity you can do while in Tulum is to visit the popular and unique cenotes in the area. Cenotes are water-filled sinkholes that naturally occur in limestone rock when an underground cave collapses in on itself and exposes the groundwater underneath. The cenotes are unique to the Yucatan Peninsula, it’s a subway cavern interconnected by rivers that allow tourists to swim on the surface and enjoy amazing views.
Playa del Carmen
Playa Mujeres is one of the most popular destinations for young people. You can dine in nice restaurants, shop high-end products in the daytime, and party at night at Fifth Avenue. In Playa del Carmen, you can enjoy the Caribbean sea where you can hire catamaran tours or yacht trips to watch the sunset in the ocean.
Playa del Carmen was listed as the 20th best destinations in the world by the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards in 2017. It’s undoubtedly a must-see destination for everyone coz of its sunny skies and year-round outdoor living.
To get there, you can get the shuttle service of Transportation from Cancun to Playa del Carmen and move around the city with Uber.
Isla Mujeres
If you want a more peaceful, laid-back, and tranquil paradise, you’ll fall in love with Isla Mujeres. It’s a destination that’s just an hour away from Cancun Airport. It’s known for beautiful white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, and the friendliest locals in the Mexican Caribbean.
One of the popular destinations in Isla Mujeres is Punta Sur Beach. It has gorgeous views that will take your breath away! You can drive around with a golf cart, walk along the trails, and watch the sunrise.
If you’re into water activities, Garrafon Natural Reef Park offers a range of activities such as Dolphin encounters, snorkeling with turtles, kayaking, zip line over the turquoise waters, and more.
Chichen Itza
Just a few hours away from Cancun Airport, you can’t miss the opportunity to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, “Chichen Itza”. It’s home to a number of architectural and natural wonders, including El Castillo, the Great Ball Court, the Temple of the Warriors, the Sacred Cenote, and more.
Chichen Itza’s main purpose was to serve as a religious center for people in the region. This structure is believed to have been used for religious rituals so farmers can get a good harvest.
