The Benefits of Hiking on the Mountains

Other than being outside the front of your house, when was the last time you felt the sun on your face and you smelled truly fresh air? When people suggest hiking, the natural instinct is to turn your nose up at the idea. Walking up the side of a giant mountain in weather that may be unpredictable? It doesn’t sound like the best fun to most people.

The thing is, when you hike at the side of mountains you’re going to see nature in its real beauty. It’s untouched by most things, and while there may be a dedicated walking trail through the side of the mountains, you may not be aware that most people don’t climb mountains because of how harsh it can be.

However, if you are equipped with the latest ECOGEAR FX, and you are aiming to climb and camp and canoe and even fish, going up the mountains has a tonne of benefits. Below, we’ve got a short list of all the health benefits of hiking on the mountains.

You lower your chances of heart disease.

Did you know that being at altitude can help you to lower your risk of cardiovascular diseases? When the oxygen is reduced in the air, there are new pathways created for blood vessels for oxygen to flow.

There is also a much lower risk of dying from ischaemic heart disease. If you are living at high altitudes, you are less likely to die from heart attack, so hiking up the mountain is going to be good for you.

The fresh air.

Everybody knows that one of the healthiest things that your body could be doing is breathing fresh air. The mountains give your lungs the chance to breathe in oxygen that is free of gasses or air-pollution.

It can actually be quite dizzying to breathe such pure air, and the most common scent you’ll encounter when you travel through the mountain is pine. It’s like walking through Christmas in the summer. Pine can decrease your hostility, depression and stress.

You will feel so much happier.

The lavender that grows at the bottom of mountains is known to aid in good sleep and help your depression. If you are feeling down, start to climb. Exerting yourself will help you to release endorphins and scents of pine and lavender will help you to feel happier as you go.

The scenery is stunning.

Mountains can be absolutely beneficial for finding your inner peace. You’re going to rediscover the beauty of nature, and you’re going to remember exactly what it’s like to feel peaceful. Mountains of the past have always been mentally healing.

After all, if Moses and Mohammed can spend time in the mountains why can’t you? Everything about the mountains is designed to help you to feel centered and relaxed, and even though you’ll be hiking in the mountains and not feeling particularly relaxed, there is a sense of achievement that goes along with getting to the peak.
