1. Big Sky, Montana
Described as a mountain town, Big Sky is the perfect place if you’re a mountain lover or love open spaces. With a population of about 2,308 as of 2010, this destination offers you various activities ranging from skiing to hiking and sightseeing.
Located in Montana, Big Sky is comfortably nestled between the Madison Range (the Madison River to the Gallatin River) and the West Yellowstone. It also boasts the famous Beehive Basin, ranked as one of the “World’s 10 Greatest Hikes” in 2013.
2. Savannah, Georgia
Savannah’s serene atmosphere makes it a go-to destination for nature lovers and, as a plus, can be just the romantic getaway you need if your partner is a nature lover as well. This is Georgia’s oldest city, and you can catch up on its rich history by touring the district.
Then consider taking a stroll through Forsyth Park (which has a lovely fountain that will be perfect for photos!) or going for a cruise on the Savannah River.
3. Palm Springs, California
Often seen as a place for only the rich and the famous, Palm Springs can sometimes be overlooked as an ideal destination for nature lovers. There are many activities to choose from to make your visit there even more exciting, including bike riding and canyons that give you a fantastic view and an opportunity to watch the sunset. If you’re a fan of water activities such as sailing and fishing, then the Florida Keys is the perfect destination for you. Made up of about 800 islands, Florida Keys is a great destination for eco-tourism and is divided into three main areas, namely Upper Keys, Middle Keys, and Lower Keys. It will take you about three and a half hours to get to The Keys from the main Florida land.
5. Portland, Oregon
Did you know Portland has about 200 parks? This destination is known for its many natural spots, from parks to waterfalls, beaches, and even a volcano. If you visit the Forest Park, which is one of Portland’s main attractions, you’re likely to see a variety of animals ranging from different bird species to deer and even flying squirrels! Portland is definitely a must-see for anyone who loves the outdoors.
